My Career

​

I started my career with a PhD in Physics at the University of Toulouse in France. I then went on spending 10 years developing expertise as an R&D engineer in several Deep-tech fields before transitioning to Trade Compliance.

​

As a Trade Compliance Officer, I used my understanding of trade regulations to develop novel market opportunities for Thales.

Now I have 22 years of experience in Trade Compliance, I am the director of Trade Compliance at Thales Alenia Space, and I help companies with the quirks of Trade Compliance.

 

My expertise is built on a profound understanding of industrial/military or dual-use grade goods combined with the many years of navigating international regulations and implementing import/export processes. 

 

In these years, I have impacted many huge governmental entities (Direction General de l'Armement (DGA), European Space Agency (ESA), Centre National d'Etude Spatiale (CNES)) and brought advisory to many companies (Thales, Constellium, Telespazio, ...).

 

I also created the perfect Trade Compliance Program (TCP) to implement in a company including:

  • the creation of a department of Trade Compliance

  • the organisation of a Trade Compliance department

  • the tailoring of a Trade Compliance Process to a company's industry, product and core business

​

This TCP was successfully audited and approved several times by the following:

  • Direction General de l'Armement (France)

  • Ministry of Defence (Italy, United Kingdom)

  • European Space Agency (Europe)

  • Department of Security, Departement of Commerce and Departement of Defense (United States)

​

Some achievements of this process:

  • helped raise awareness on Trade Compliance in more than10,000 people across 8 countries

  • implemented in more than 500 import/export projects

​

It unlocked the trade: 

  • of several thousand of products, materials, software and intellectual services of military-grade and below

  • to more than 30 countries (including China and Russia)

  • in full compliance with national and international export rules, sanctions and embargoes

​

I now help small to large entities with the understanding of the import, export international legal requirements for their particular goods and industry. I also provide the full implementation of an audit-proof process of trade compliance.
